Real Madrid to win 16-17 Champions League

While clubs in the Premier League continue to add to the £450m that has already been spent in the English transfer window, it appears Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has turned his attention to just one name this summer.

Palmeiras forward Gabriel Jesus is the latest player to be linked with a move to Madrid, and if his goalscoring record in Brazil is anything to go by, capturing the 19-year old will only spell danger for every defensive unit in La Liga.

Having already re-acquired the services of ex-Madrid forward Alvaro Morata after activating his buy-back clause from Juventus, Zizou is seemingly keen to add to the current array of attacking talent at his disposal.

And we understand Jesus, who has been compared to Brazil’s second all-time leading goalscorer Ronaldo, is closing in on a deal which would see him in a Los Blancos shirt for a fee of around £25m.

The striker’s record at youth level for Palmeiras is simply frightening, bagging 91 goals in 70 games before making the step up to senior level, where so far he’s grabbed 15 goals from 26 games this year.

As with any young player linked with Real Madrid, there are a whole host of other European clubs said to be interested in the Brazilian goal machine, with Barcelona keeping an eye on Jesus should a move to Madrid fail to materialise.

And for those of you who haven’t seen him in action, you can catch him this summer at the Olympic Games, where he’ll be representing Brazil alongside current Barca forward Neymar.

Zidane and co. may want to get this deal wrapped up before then though before Neymar can tempt the young star to the Camp Nou.
