They may have avoided the likes of Atletico Madrid and Juventus in the Champions League draw, but Manchester City fans are unlikely to breathe a sigh of relief just yet – with high-scoring Monaco well capable of causing problems for the Sky Blues.

Leonardo Jardim’s side have registered in nine of their last 10 Champions League games, while their hosts have found the net in seven of their last eight European outings.

That means the 4/6 for Both Teams to Score looks like something of a banker, especially with Les Monegasques having netted an astonishing 76 goals in 26 Ligue 1 games this term.

They tend to finish games especially strongly, netting the final goal in eight of their last 10 matches in all competitions. By contrast, City are strong starters – opening the scoring in seven of their last eight fixtures. So backing Man City to score first and Monaco to score last at 15/4 could well pay dividends.

One man who’s netted countless crucial goals for the principality outfit following his return from loan spells in the Premier League is Radamel Falcao. The Colombian may have flopped at Manchester United and Chelsea, but he’s been sensational this term.

He’s put away an incredible 13 goals in his last 14 outings, so we reckon you should bite our traders’ hands off for the 9/5 for the 31-year-old to net anytime. And having recorded a brace or hat-tricks in six games this season, the 10/1 for the Monaco ace to net twice or more looks well worth a flutter.

Meanwhile for City, it’s a man in a slightly deeper role who could offer their best value in the goalscorer markets. Yaya Toure has found the net in four of his last 10 games, and has netted for the Citizens in this competition in each of the previous five seasons. So the 2/1 for him to score anytime could prove popular.

In the match betting, Man City are 4/7 favourites for victory, with Monaco 9/2 to take the first leg, and 3/1 on offer for the draw.
