After mauling Dinamo Tbilisi in Georgia, Tottenham are in the enviable position of being able to rest players ahead of the upcoming north London derby.

A price of 2/9 says Spurs will increase the 5-0 deficit they hold over the eastern Europeans by winning the second leg at White Hart Lane, with Tbilisi mammoth 11/1 shots. The only marginally more realistic outcome of a draw is at 11/2.

Spurs’ 1-0 win over Swansea last time out means they’ve now prevailed in each of their three games this season, all without conceding a goal.

The inferiority of Tbilisi was outlined in the first leg, when the north Londoners racked up a 5-0 win, compared to the pair of 1-0 victories they struggled to in the Premier League.

Given the gulf in quality that separates the two clubs, a bet on the 27/20 for Spurs to overcome their Georgian foes with a two-goal handicap applied to their final score could well be worthy of a punt, even though Andre Villas-Boas is certain to field a string of youngsters and reserves.

Still, the likes of Jermain Defoe and Emmanuel Adebayor could come into contention giving the Lilywhites’ attack some jagged teeth.
The pair are well-priced in the first player to score stakes.

Roberto Soldado has claimed favouritism but is surely not going to be risked with progression nigh on guaranteed so both Defoe’s 7/2 and Adebayor’s 4/1 to break the deadlock are laced with appeal.

Another bet with seemingly amazing value is the 20/21 that says Spurs will win the match without conceding a goal.

Again, Premier League familiars such as Younes Kaboul and Kyle Naughton are likely to feature so they’ll shape up solidly and their aforementioned clean sheet record isn’t something they’ll want to relinquish easily.
