Sporting Lisbon may have suffered a shock defeat away to Genk in the last round, but Costinha’s side can confirm qualification in their home tie with Lille.
Lille sit second in the French League and second in Group C, but Rudi Garcia’s side lost to Sporting 2-1 in France and the Portuguese club are 8/1 to repeat that scoreline on Wednesday.
Sporting suffered a mini-blip after their loss to Genk four weeks ago when Vitoria Guimaraes upset Costinha’s side 3-2 in Lisbon, but since those two losses Sporting have two wins and last weekend’s 1-1 draw with Porto.
Sporting are 11/8 to win on Wednesday with the draw, which would be enough to send the Portuguese club through, available at 9/4.
Lille also enter the game on the back of two wins and a draw, and the French club demand respect for a game they are 2/1 to win.
Garcia’s side are level on points with Marseille at the top of the French league and in Moussa Sow they have a striker who has 10 goals in his 15 starts this season.
But home advantage means Sporting can secure qualification for the knock-out stages.
Gent vs Levski Sofia
If Lille lose in Lisbon then the door will be opened for either Gent or Levski Sofia to take advantage and end Matchday five of the Europa League in second place.
Levski managed a 3-2 victory over Gent in Bulgaria but Gent beat Group C leaders Sporting 3-1 at the Jules Ottenstadion and the Belgian club are 4/5 to win.
Levski are yet to win on the road in this season’s Europa League but the two sides have been involved in games with plenty of goals and over 2.5 goals is priced at 23/25.
