Roy Hodgson has left Steven Gerrard out of the squad for Liverpool’s Europa League tie with Utrecht on Wednesday, but Fernando Torres will travel.
With financial and political troubles off the pitch, and poor performances on the pitch, Liverpool are in the midst of a slump and Utrecht will fancy their chances of an upset – they are 11/4 to win at home.
With Gerrard out, the focus will be on Fernando Torres to deliver and the decision to leave Liverpool’s talismanic skipper out may backfire on Hodgson should Torres once again fail to deliver.
The Spaniard is 1/1 to score any time, but Torres has just the one goal this season and is yet to find the form that endeared him to the Kop.
Dirk Kuyt returns to face his old club and that extra motivation to perform may be what Liverpool will need if they are to take three points from this game – he is 6/1 to score first.
However Carragher and company will need to be weary of Ricky Van Wolfswinkle in the Utrecht attack.
Celtic can testify to Van Wolfswinkel’s talents after his hat-trick knocked the Scottish team out of the comptetion, and Wolfswinkel has 13 goals in 14 league and European games – he is 15/8 to score any time.
Steaua Bucharest vs Napoli

Steaua are unbeaten since that loss and have won their previous two fixtures 1-0 and it’s 5/1 for the same scoreline to happen on Thursday.
Napoli beat Cesena 4-1 in Serie A last Sunday but have been inconsistent this season and are 6/4 to win in Romania.
