The Professor is licking his wounds after a 10-7 defeat last weekend but sees the international break as the ideal opportunity to let his superior knowledge show.

Hoping to rub salt into the bearded one’s wounds this week in @olliepuk, who has predicted a stroll in the park for England and a vital away win for Wales.

With last week’s winner claiming a £25 Free Bet the prize once again stands at £25 and with a hand-picked 10-game schedule there are plenty of points up for grabs.

As usual, the format is simple. One point will be awarded for a correct result with three points for guessing the correct score.

Let’s have a look at how both parties are shaping up ahead of what could prove a pivotal weekend in the challenge to secure a spot at Euro 2016.

professor-2703Here’s an insight into the logic that has shaped some of The Professor’s selections:

– Bulgaria may appear a tough nut to crack at home but Ivaylo Petev’s men are winless in four and were recently held by Canada and Malta. With the Bulgarians conceding exactly one goal in their last five games, The Prof is tipping the Azzurri to steal a narrow win.

– Spain may still be licking their wounds from their disastrous World Cup campaign but La Roja are in fine fettle at home, netting at least three goals in their last four in front of their own fans. Ukraine may get on the sheet but in a consolatory way only.

– International stats can be misleading – if a team won 8-0 against someone eight years ago few players from that side are likely to remain after all – but with back-to-back recent 2-0 wins over Turkey Holland will call upon many of the players from those meetings, meaning a similar result could be on the cards here.
