Calum Chambers is in line to make his first competitive start for England after being called into the squad to face San Marino at Wembley on Thursday.
The Arsenal defender replaces injured Everton star John Stones in the squad and is set to come into the starting line-up after just nine minutes of action for his country against Norway last month.
And with England Under-21 manager Gareth Southgate dropping a huge hint regarding his inclusion, the 19-year-old could feature at right-back or even centre-back.
“We are thinking about the individuals all the time and what is the right experience for them,” said Southgate.
“But in my view the first [senior] team always comes first and then the experience of the individual after that.
“So that is why Calum looks like he is going to play, so that is the right thing for him,” he added.
“Nobody can say that it is not a brilliant experience to play at Wembley and possibly get a start with England.”
In the latest of Ladbrokes Breaking Bets series, the bookmaker has reacted to the news of Chamber’s possible full debut and priced the former Southampton man up at 5/1 to score against minnows San Marino in an England win.
And while he has not found the back of the net in any of his 26 senior appearances at club level there could be no better time to notch a first career goal in an England shirt against San Marino.
The Three Lions have scored 26 goals in four matches against La Serenissima and with goals once again on the agenda at Wembley, Chambers could well break his duck at international level.
He is 25/1 to open the scoring and is 9/2 to score at anytime with Ladbrokes but if you fancy both Chambers and fellow defender Gary Cahill to find the net you can find a special price of 14/1 with the bookmaker.
But with no doubts surrounding an England win it may just pay to back a Chambers goal on top of that in the latest of our Breaking Bets.
