With the international break putting paid to any midweek action in either the Premier League, Championship or League Cup, attention turns to the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy with a doozy of a bet for those looking to reap significant returns this Tuesday.

Ahead of Peterborough’s mouth-watering tie with old foes Leyton Orient the Posh have received the Ladbrokes Price Boost treatment that has seen the Posh move from 3/1 to 4/1 with the bookmakers to win in 90 minutes with both teams finding the net.

While it’s rare to describe any Football League Trophy encounter as “mouth-watering” it’s an adjective worth using when describing any encounter between these two sides.

Because if there is one thing a game between Peterborough and Leyton Orient guarantees, it’s goals and goals at either end, with both teams finding the net in each of their last seven meetings.

And with four of these fixtures coming last term – two in the league and two in the play-offs- there is every reason to believe a repeat could be on the cards here.

Darren Ferguson’s Peterborough side are certainly in the kind of form to suggest goals could be on the cards for both sides with three of their last four competitive games seeing both sides get off the mark.

More importantly London Road – the venue for tonight’s encounter – has seen its fair share of goals, with both teams scoring in four of the last five games played at the ground.

And while it was Orient that triumphed over the Posh in the play-offs last season, the hosts could well exact some revenge here after enjoying a positive start to the current campaign that has seen them go top of the standings in League One.

The same cannot be said for Russell Slade’s charges, with Leyton Orient languishing down in 14th after picking up just six points from their opening five league fixtures.

Backing Posh to claim victory in another goalfest not only makes sense – it could make for a damn fine game to watch!
