Nottingham Forest welcome Wigan to the City Ground on Wednesday night, and, still unbeaten under Sean O’Driscoll, look tempting chances for victory at 6/4.

In their opening three Championship games, Forest have drawn twice and won once, with their sole triumph so far coming in a home match.

Back at the City Ground on Tuesday, they could succeed again against a side that they have never lost to in four previous meetings.

It should be noted that the most popular result emanating from these games has been the draw however, which has proved the outcome in three of those four ties.

Punters can have 23/10 about the stalemate here, which would in turn lead to extra-time being played out.

Meanwhile, travelling Wigan, who themselves have started the season in decent fashion, are 7/4 for victory in normal time on Tuesday night.

The Latics triumphed 2-0 away to newly-promoted Southampton in league competition on Saturday, and were not disgraced in an opening day defeat to Chelsea by the same scoreline.

As aforementioned though, history is not in their favour judging by their failure to beat Forest in four attempts.

They do tend to find the net against the Tricky Trees though, as proved by three of those four games ending as score draws.

Those believing another stalemate in which each team notches is on the cards can back an even number of goals in the match at 17/20.

Goals have more commonly occurred in the second half of these sides’ encounters traditionally too, and so backing the draw at half-time could prove profitable.

It is 5/1 for the sides to be level at half-time with Forest going on to win, the same price for Wigan, and 9/2 for the draw at half and full-time.

Potential first scorer selections are in abundance regarding this match also, with a vast array of attacking threats in either side.

Dexter Blackstock, Simon Cox, Franco Di Santo and Arouna Kone have all opened their accounts for the season, and are 11/2 joint-favourites to break the deadlock here.

Lewis McGugan could prove value for the home side though, at 9/1 to follow up his wonder strike at Bolton on Friday night with the opener again here.
