Liverpool head into December on the back of their best Premier League start in years, but as attention turns to League Cup duty, Jurgen Klopp will be hoping his side can replicate last season’s run.

Beaten finalists last term, the Reds welcome Leeds to Anfield to vye for a semi-final spot, and despite the Whites’ fall from grace in the 21st century, Garry Monks’ men are showing signs of revival.

The hosts are 2/9 favourites to win in the 90 minutes, but many may just fancy in-form Leeds at 11/1, especially with Liverpool set to miss a number of key players.

It’s 1/12 that Liverpool progress to the next stage, with the visitors at 6/1.

The Yorkshire outfit have risen up the Championship table, and head to Merseyside with nine wins from their last 13 games in all competitions.

It’s a remarkable turnaround after the club opened with one win in six and reports suggested Monk’s time at Elland Road was nearing a very early end.

The two sides haven’t met since 2009, and unsurprisingly, no members from either side will be around here.

Klopp has regularly stated he will take cup competitions seriously, though he will be without Philippe Coutinho who is set to miss several weeks through injury.

Daniel Sturridge and Roberto Firmino also look set to miss out, as will Adam Lallana.

Thankfully the former Dortmund boss can still call upon plenty of attacking talent, and Divick Origi may well get another chance following his goal against Sunderland.

Origi is 13/5 to open the scoring, with 10/3 for Sadio Mane to net first.

Monk will be hoping Chris Wood can cause the Liverpool defence a few issues, and the big striker is 9/1 to score the first goal at Anfield, having already netted 12 times this season.

The Premier League outfit will also need to be on guard for the talents of Kemar Roofe.

Signed in a big-money move from Oxford United in the summer, the 23-year-old is one of the biggest talents outside the top tier and 16/1 to score first and 5/1 anytime.

Liverpool are 13/8 to win and both teams to score, while 6/4 can be had on the Reds rediscovering their scoring touch on the -2 handicap.

But Leeds are in-form and finally appear to have found stability under Monk, they have nothing to lose, and are more than capable of giving their Premier League hosts a problem or two.
