Between the World Cup and the newly-moved earlier deadline day, time is more precious than ever for Premier League managers to get deals done.
But they’ve been busy at work. To keep you up to speed, we’ve got your one daily one-stop guide to the latest transfer activity.
Ronnie touches down in Turin
The deal was announced last week, but Cristiano Ronaldo today arrived in Turin for his Juventus medical.
It will see the Portuguese star complete a move in the range of £105m from Real Madrid. It’s a staggering amount for a 33-year-old, but Juve want a Champions League and some shirts sold.
Sarri makes early Chelsea impact
He was linked heavily with Manchester City, but Jorginho’s surprise switch to join Chelsea must have been strongly influenced by the new manager.
Jorginho played under Maurizio Sarri at Napoli, and the duo will now pair up once again in West London.
The Blues are going through a difficult spell, but may have landed a coup in the 26-year-old midfielder.
One in and one out at Chelsea?
Transfers often act in circular fashion. And so Jorginho’s arrival, coupled with Ronaldo’s Real exit, moves Eden Hazard further still to a Chelsea departure.
The Belgian has made numerous comments regarding his future in recent weeks, and they hint that it’s time to move on.
Madrid need a new superstar to fill the Ronaldo void, and they’ll struggle to get Kylian Mbappe, while Neymar would cost an astronomical amount.
West Ham arrivals continue
Tongues are wagging in East London as West Ham United continue to splash the cash. The latest arrival is Felipe Anderson from Lazio.
The deal, thought to be worth around £35m, takes the Irons’ summer outlay to over £85m. Watch this space.
Everton are playing the long game
Conversely, Everton appear to be holding on to their lot. At least for now.
Marco Silva hasn’t signed a single player yet, but that could be about to change amid reports they’re homing in on Espanyol lynchpin David Lopez.
