Leeds welcome Wolves to Elland Road for the first game of the Championship season, with both sides targeting a 100 per cent start to their league campaigns.

Fans may expect something to give considering both clubs are promotion contenders, but with the draw priced at 23/10 a stalemate might be a solid bet.

Manager Neil Warnock has allowed last season’s star performers Robert Snograss (£3m) and Adam Clayton (£500k) to leave the club, but Leeds are priced at 7/5 to kick off this campaign with a win.

That money has been reinvested throughout the team, with goalkeeper Paddy Kenny, defender Jason Pearce and forwards Luke Varney and El-Hadji Diouf joining the Whites.

Controversial Senegalese hit-man Diouf is rarely out of the headlines, and at 7/1 he can be backed to make them for the right reasons by opening the scoring against Wolves.

The away side are under new management in the shape of Norweigan boss Ståle Solbakken, whose team lie third favourites for an instant return to the Premier League at 5/2.

Wolves have been able to hold onto most of the squad that was relegated in May, although the futures of forwards Steven Fletcher and Matt Jarvis remain uncertain.

The club have signed Frank Nouble from West Ham and Lillestrom’s attacking midfielder Björn Bergmann Sigurðarson was purchased for £2.4m, and Wolves can be backed at 15/8 to beat Leeds.

Irish striker Kevin Doyle looks set to have a big season at Molineux after falling out-of-favour under former boss Mick McCarthy, and the 28-year-old is priced at 6/1 to open the scoring.

The two sides have met six times in the Championship, with Wolves winning three and losing just one of those encounters.

They last faced one another in 2007, in a match that Leeds lost 1-0 courtesy of a Michael Kightly goal, and a repeat performance this time around can be found at 9/1.

Wolves and Leeds last played out a goalless draw on the opening day of the Championship season in 2004/05, and you can back both teams to fire a blank again at 11/1.
