It’s been another turbulent season for former football powerhouse Leeds, with the unedifying takeover of the club by questionable Italian Massimo Cellino making many more headlines than their disappointing results.
These prices seem to be based on league position alone and don’t take current form into account; Leeds have been in crisis for most of the campaign, but they’ve won their last two matches and host a team that’s lost eight of their previous 14.
Forest have tasted victory just once during that run, having claimed a 1-0 last time out against Birmingham, but that was at home to a side in similarly bad form who are far from assured of their place in the division next term.
By contrast, Leeds’ survival in the second tier has never been in doubt and, having come through a run of one win in 12 themselves, during which time it was reported staff were not receiving their full wages, Brian McDermott’s boys have won the two fixtures since Cellino’s takeover was ratified.
Former Crewe youth Luke Murphy bagged a brace in the 2-0 victory at home to Blackpool and can be backed at 5/1 to give the long-suffering Elland Road faithful something to shout about with an anytime effort, but – even at 16/1 – the 24-year-old holds little appeal for another first goal.
The division’s top scorer was back on the mark when Leeds beat Barnsley 1-0 at Oakwell, as 28-goal Ross McCormack snapped a mini-rut with his first in five games.
McCormack has grabbed his side’s first goal 16 times so far this season and 10 of them have broken the deadlock in their respective matches.
