Five points separate Queens Park Rangers from the chasing pack, but Neil Warnock may need to turn his hand to logging as a forest looms large on the QPR managers radar.
Five points may be the gap but Nottingham Forest can cut that gap to two with a win in their game in hand on the Championship pace-setters, and after defeating Cardiff City 2-1 on Saturday, Forest have seen their Championship odds cut to 4/1 to win the title.
Billy Davies’ side are currently the most dangerous side in the Championship having held QPR to a draw at Loftus Road and taken three points from Cardiff at the City Ground, and Forest offer all the value in the Championship betting market.
Having being held to a 1-1 draw with bottom club Preston North End, QPR are stuttering somewhat in as we enter the business end of the season, and the 8/13 favourites should be worried about Forest snatching their title.
Swansea may have taken 13 points from their last 18 to join Forest on 56 points, but the South Wales club are still as big as 14/1 to win the Championship, with their Welsh rivals Cardiff out to 8/1 following their defeat to Forest.
Norwich are level on points with Cardiff but find themselves 12/1 to win the Championship, and the clubs currently in the play-off places should be worried about the Championship’s form team Leicester, who are now 20/1 to win the Championship with 16 points from their last 18.
While it seemed around Christmas time that the Championship would pan out into a two-horse race between QPR and Cardiff, Forest are now the side with all the momentum and the 8/13 for QPR to win the league now seems short.
