CSKA Moscow ensured that the safety net bet returned to winning ways yesterday and we believe that FC Twente can build on this victory tonight in the opening leg of their Champions League qualifier with FC Vaslui.

Many would have believed that CSKA would run out comprehensive winners in their top vs bottom Russian League clash with Krylya Sovetov.

However, from a betting sense the size of the winning margin makes no difference and CSKA’s 2-1 success ensured the bank balance for the safety net bet increased to £351.50.

We are sticking with football today and in particular focusing on the first leg of the Champions League third qualifying round clash between FC Twente and Romanian’s FC Vaslui.

Twente only missed out on the Dutch title on the final day of last season to Ajax and have already beaten the likes of Galatasaray and Fenerbahce in away friendlies this month.

Meanwhile, Vaslui have not been so impressive and a 3-0 defeat in their opening league game of the season at Rapid Bucharest is far from the ideal preparation for such an important European fixture.

Furthermore, there are doubts as to whether Vaslui are even good enough to be in the competition as they are fortunate to be in the qualifying rounds in the first place.

Vaslui finished third in the Romanian League last season, but only qualified for the Champions League after second-placed FC Timisoara lost their appeal to take part after failing financial tests.

This failure also resulted in Timisoara being relegated from the Romanian League.

FC Twente are 4/11 in the Champions League odds to beat Vaslui and so we will be staking £55 on this outcome in order to fulfil our daily aim of making £20.

Current Status
Bank: £351.50
Today’s stake: £55
Best case scenario: £371.50
Worst case scenario: £296.50

Last Safety Net bet: CSKA Moscow to beat Krylya Sovetov @ 1/6

Wealth warning: although we are confident the safety net bet’s strategy will be profitable over a period of time, the nature of sport means we cannot guarantee you will win every single time.
