Pep Guardiola didn’t take long to get back to league-winning ways, wrapping up the Bundesliga title with seven games to go in his first season in charge of Bayern Munich thanks to a 3-1 win over Hertha Berlin.

Having joined a club that were breaking records for fun in conquering all comers last season, Guardiola’s incredible feat of improving Bayern Munich leaves him among a group of very few to be considered one of the greatest managers of all time.

That got us thinking. How many of this current Bayern side, who are 9/5 to win the Champions League this term, would get into the Spaniard’s 2010/11 Barcelona team who were hailed as the greatest team on the planet?

We reckon six, but do you agree?

Having conceded just 13 goals in the league this season – on course to better the 21 shipped by his counterpart in the season in question – Manuel Neuer is the first Die Roten star to get the selection.

The Barca pair of Dani Alves and Pique line up at the back with Brazilian Dante and German skipper Philipp Lahm completing the defence. Lahm playing at left-back may raise a few eyebrows but having turned in a versatile campaign, in which Guardiola said he could probably be the best forward in the side too, there can be little argument.

A flat midfield three is unsurprisingly dominated by the pass-masters Xavi and Andres Iniesta from the Catalan club, with Bastian Schweinsteiger picked to anchor them ahead of Sergio Busquets.

The front three is possibly one of the most formidable forward lines ever assembled, with Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben picked to continue their inverted winger roles, which has brought them a combined 19 league goals this term.

There isn’t a player capable of rivalling Lionel Messi for the final spot in the side, with his 31 La Liga goals during the 2010/11 season easily the highest tally of any player from either club.
