Bayern Munich fought back from 2-1 down  to see off Dusseldorf 3-2 on Saturday – and that can only be bad news for Arsenal.

Progression is already looking an impossibility for the Gunners (Bayern are an absolutely tiny 1/100 to progress to the next round) but even a pride-saving victory is highly unlikely.

Bayern are 4/11 to follow their convincing 3-1 victory at the Emirates with another win this time out and, even at those short odds, it’s a punt that could be well worth taking on.

While Arsenal head into this midweek clash on the back of three defeats in their last four games, you have to go back to October to find the last time the Bundesliga leaders tasted defeat.

That’s 28 games in all competitions without a defeat but, even more impressive, is the amount of games they’ve won in that period.

They’ve won 24 of those 28, including all of their last 16 matches.

Their last gasp victory at the weekend showed that – despite their massive lead at the top of the German top tier – they are in no mood to take things easy.

That ruthless streak hardly points to a potential Arsenal victory and their almost unheard of odds of 7/1 for the win in 90 minutes should be approached with caution.

With Bayern coming from behind twice in their victory against Dusseldorf on Saturday, backing them to record another merciless win against Arsene Wenger’s men at 4/11 should return a profit, not a massive one, but a profit nonetheless.
