2015 Football Blogging Awards: Meet the finalists – KickOff

Placing an educated bet can be tiresome, with reams of stats and information available. Fortunately a lot of the hard work is now done for you by a raft of generous experts who go out of their way to decipher all the info before publishing the results on their blogs.

Every year the crème de la crème of the blogging world are recognised for their efforts and it is almost time for the 2015 annual Football Blogging Awards.

This year’s ceremony will take place in Manchester later this week and Ladbrokes is getting behind the event by sponsoring the Best Gambling Football Blog award.

The shortlist has been revealed and we’ll be giving you the lowdown on each entrant between now and the big day.

Today we take a peek behind the scenes at KickOff…

Ladbrokes News: Describe your blog in a nutshell

KickOff: Our site and blog are aimed at delivering football statistics and editorial that is engaging, informative and opinion making. We aim to provide a fan a clear idea of what might happen in all football games before and during the match, regardless of whether they follow either team playing.

We try to always use graphics wherever possible, as people spend enough time staring at Excel spreadsheets at work.

Our Acca Smacker product is also the quickest, smartest and best value way of putting together big winning accumulators.

LN: Describe a day in the life of a KickOff blogger

KO: It’s a very fast and furious affair, especially with so much great football being played at the moment. We’re always trying to break down any interesting stats on breaking news, who’s going to play in the next game and previewing all the important stats for upcoming matches.

LN: Which story are you most proud of?

KO: I wouldn’t say it’s a story we’re most proud of but we do love it when we see some of our punters win big using our stats and predictions. Just a few days back, two of our punters won massively turning £10 into £855 and £1 into £398. We wrote about the story HERE.

LN: What would it mean to win the Best Gambling Football Blog 2015?

KO: We’d all be over the moon. We’re a small team who’ve taken on a big project and nothing’s better than getting some appreciation for our work, especially from people who know the industry well.
