Juan Martin del Potro ensured that the safety net bet ended last week with a winning mentality when he defeated Janko Tipsarevic at the Davis Cup and we turn our attentions to women’s tennis in search of another £20 today.

Del Potro’s straight-set success helped Argentina reach the Davis Cup final to face Spain at the expense of defending champions Serbia, but we are expecting a different result today with a Serbian player achieving victory.

We are banking on Bojana Jovanovski winning her opening round match of the WANLIMA Guangzhou International, where she faces little-known Ukrainian Tetiana Luzhanska.

Jovanovski is seeded fifth in China, but does not arrive in the greatest form, losing in the opening round in her last four hard-court tournaments.

However, two of these defeats have come against Serena Williams and Yanina Wickmayer, who are prominently above her in the WTA rankings, while Gisela Dulko is alongside her.

The only really poor result came in her last tournament in Tashkent when she lost to Sorana Cirstea.

What should be noted though is that Jovanovski got a high number of first serves in, but struggled to create any break points on that of Cirstea.

With Luzhanska failing to get past the opening round of a WTA event all year and being almost 100 places below Jovanovski in the rankings, it is unlikely the Serbian will find break points so hard to come by in China.

Jovanovski is 2/7 in the tennis odds to beat Luzhanska and so we will be staking £70 on this result to fulfil our aim of making £20 each day.

Today’s stake: £70
Best case scenario: £449
Worst case scenario: £359

Last Safety Net bet: Juan Martin del Potro to beat Janko Tipsarevic @ 1/2

Wealth warning: although we are confident the safety net bet’s strategy will be profitable over a period of time, the nature of sport means we cannot guarantee you will win every single time.
