Royal Ascot Race Previews

Kel Mansfield gives his thoughts on the 30 races that make up Royal Ascot

Royal Ascot is now upon us and punters will be busy analysing their racecards to find some winners from the 30 races spread across the five days of action.

In total, 16 Group-class races help make up this action, with at least one Group One contest on display each day.

Punters are spoiled on Day One, with Frankel the star of the show in the Queen Anne Stakes, while the King’s Stand Stakes over the shortest sprint trip of 5f will be as tough as ever to separate.

So You Think will be a warm favourite for the Prince Of Wales Stakes, the highlight of Day Two, while many of the leading contenders in the Epsom Oaks will be back in competition for the Ribblesdale on Day Three. Also the stayers will head to Ascot, led by Fame And Glory, for the Ascot Gold Cup.

The final day will all be about Aussie superstar Black Caviar in her first race on British soil in the Diamond Jubilee Stakes.

Read below the thoughts of Kel Mansfield on each of the races and what he thinks are the best bets on offer.
