England’s World Cup qualifier with Poland may have been initially postponed, but Fifa delegates have agreed that kick off will occur at 4pm UK time on October 17.

There were disagreements between the two teams in relation to when the game could be replayed, after a waterlogged pitch caused the scheduled meeting to be called off, despite the Warsaw National Stadium having a roof that was left open.

England were happy to move kick off forward 24 hours, especially given they had already made the trip to Poland.

It was the hosts that were not so happy with this decision, with some of their squad having domestic fixtures on October 19th.

They wanted to play the rearranged clash in the November or February international windows, but these dates were unavailable to England, due to pre-arranged friendlies with Sweden and Brazil.

However, the decision has been made and getting the roof on at the National Stadium in Warsaw will now be top priority so that the underground heating system can begin to take the surface water off the pitch.

Roy Hodgson has indicated that unless anything happens overnight in relation to player injury or illness, he will name the same team.

This was Joe Hart in goal, a defence of Glen Johnson, Phil Jagielka, Joleon Lescott and Ashley Cole, James Milner, Steven Gerrard, Michael Carrick and Tom Cleverley in midfield, with Jermain Defoe partnering Wayne Rooney in attack.

For the time being, England remain 1/1 to secure victory.
