Carlos Tevez may now only be weeks away from returning to the Manchester City fold and if he is picked by Roberto Mancini, 7/5 looks big value that it is rivals Manchester United that go on to win the Premier League title.

Tevez has not played since a Carling Cup victory over Birmingham in September and has spent the last few months sunning himself in Argentina having fallen out with Roberto Mancini.

The striker has now apologised for his actions and is hoping to re-stake his case for selection, battling for a starting spot with in-form trio Sergio Aguero, Mario Balotelli and Edin Dzeko.

Tevez’ battle for match fitness begins in a friendly against Preston Reserves, which will be played behind closed doors to keep him out of the media spotlight.

If all goes well, Tevez is expected to make his return to the Manchester City fold on March 10th, which is an away game against Swansea that they are 8/15 to win.

No doubt Tevez will start from the substitute’s bench and so his appearance is unlikely to hinder the result.

However, if he does secure some starts before the end of the season, there is the chance that it may cause some unrest in the Manchester City camp.

Captain Vincent Kompany has regularly spoken positively about the togetherness of the squad and this has been evident in the way the club have recovered from a slightly patchy period in recent weeks.

But it is hard not to believe that the return of Tevez will not ruffle some feathers.

Many of the squad were busy grafting hard over the Christmas period and New Year maintaining the club’s strong start, while the games continued to come thick and fast in the early stages of 2012.

Although understanding the rotational nature of the squad, these same players surely will not be happy if they are relegated to the bench to accommodate Tevez, while some may even not make the match-day squad as a consequence.

Manchester City’s odds are 8/15 to make full use of their current two-point advantage and win the Premier League this season.
