Yossi Benayoun may not be the biggest name that has been linked with a move away in this transfer window, but his move away from Chelsea is an intriguing one.

Ladbrokes have opened a market on Benayoun’s next club and they seem to have priced it correctly based on noise coming out of his representatives.

The Israeli midfielder is looking at a move to either Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool or Arsenal today and the betting suggests Spurs have the edge although there is ery little in it.

Harry Redknapp’s side have confirmed the capture of Scott Parker but they remain 9/4 to sign Benayoun this evening with Liverpool 5/2 and Arsenal also 5/2.

With Luka Modric also set to stay at White Hart Lane, Spurs are running out of squad numbers for midfielders and it looks as if Arsenal or Liverpool may be more suited.

Chelsea’s move for Franck Ribery suggests Raul Meireles will be staying at Anfield leaving Arsenal the club who most need a new midfielder.

Kenny Dalglish is a big fan of Benayoun but the Israeli has already done a stint at Anfield and Arsenal may be his preferred situation.

With Arsene Wenger favouring a 4-3-3 formation, Benayoun would slot perfectly into that formation and while the Israeli isn’t considered a star in the Premier League, he is certainly a solid player.

Benayoun would offer more passion than Andrei Arshavin, a better final ball than Theo Walcott and would bring plenty of experience to the Arsenal squad and Wenger will be enticed by the cut-price fee.

It is believed Chelsea will let Benayoun go for around £4m and as the Israeli is 3/1 to remain at Chelsea, the Chelsea board are keen to get Benayoun off the wage roster.

Joe Cole’s new club Lille are also in the running for Benayoun and they are 16/1 to land the transfer of the Chelsea midfielder.
