Money back if Aguero ignites Man City again in Community Shield
Punters can claim refunds should the Argentinian strike first against Chelsea
Sergio Aguero scored one of the most dramatic goals in Premier League history with virtually the last kick of Manchester City’s last competitive outing.
Now, the forward enters Sunday’s Community Shield clash with Chelsea as 5/1 favourite to score first or last in the game.
Ladbrokes offer an added incentive to place a first or last scorer bet on the game too, giving punters the chance to claim refunds should Aguero open the scoring.
The blistering start to Aguero’s City career last term suggests that this is an offer that should be taken advantage of.
Indeed, the former Atletico Madrid striker came off the bench to make an instant impact on his debut, notching twice in a 4-0 defeat of Swansea last term.
Aguero then went on to open the scoring in two of City’s next four games.
He also racked up an impressive nine goals in his first nine appearances for the eventual Premier League champions, showing he is not averse to an early season hot streak.
His three openers from City’s last five pre-season friendly outings also bode well for Aguero backers, though an abundance of first and last scorer options tempt at Villa Park.
One of which is Bosnian striker Edin Dzeko, who is seemingly growing back into favour with City boss Roberto Mancini.
Dzeko scored the first two goals in the Citizens’ last friendly match, and he is an 8/1 hope to open or close the Community Shield scoring this weekend.
Aguero’s compatriot Carlos Tevez is the closest threat to his favouritism meanwhile, as a 6/1 shot to be first to breach Chelsea’s backline.
The Blues themselves will have an array of attacking threats on show too, and Spanish striker Fernando Torres is 7/1 to get off on the front foot with the opener.
Penalty specialist Frank Lampard is 10/1 to find the net first or last, whilst £32m new signing Eden Hazard is the same price.
