Port Vale vs Shrewsbury – Top of the table clash in League Two
Elsewhere pre-season title favourites Bradford go to promotion chasing Rotherham
Shrewsbury left Northwest London deflated on Saturday after an injury time equaliser meant Wycombe snatched a point from Saturday morning’s League Two leaders.
Port Vale’s 2-0 win at home to Accrington Stanley saw them leapfrog Shrewsbury to go top of the league and the two meet at Vale Park tonight eager to continue their challenge at the top.
In the past two seasons, both games have ended in a draw at Vale Park, but Port Vale have won both games away at Shrewsbury and are 11/10 to emerge with three points on Tuesday night.
Both teams can boast six-goal strikers at the top of the scoring charts in Vale’s Marc Richards and Shrewsbury’s Jake Robinson, with Richards 9/2 to score first but Johnson 7/1 to score first.
A repeat of the 1-1 draw that has happened in the previous two fixtures at Port Vale is 11/2.
Rotherham vs Bradford
Rotherham will enter the Yorkshire derby with Bradford very confident of a win after Bradford’s terrible start to the season.
Bradford were pre-season 5/1 favourites to win League Two but have drifted to 25/1 after just two wins from eight games and are 4/1 to beat third place Rotherham on Tuesday night.
Adam Le Fondre continues to find the net, scoring his eighth goal in eight games ending Chesterfield’s unbeaten run at the weekend and is 3/1 to score the first goal.
Last season this tie produced nine goals across the two games and with Bradford’s leaky defence, they’ve conceded eight goals in four away games, Le Fondre can add to his seasons tally and help Rotherham to a win – they are 8/11 to win.
Le Fondre is as short as 7/4 to be the League Two top goalscorer. See the full League Two football betting odds market here.
