Norwich v Ipswich – there’s little to separate East Anglia rivals
The Canaries are 6/5 to win at home despite boss Paul Lambert being banned from touchline
It’s always a massive game when these sides meet and this Sunday clash is no different.
Norwich head into the game as 6/5 favourites and are three points and five places above their ‘Old Farm’ rivals. But it’s Ipswich who head into this game in better shape – off the pitch in any case.
Ipswich’s threadbare squad have been given a huge boost with the signings of Plymouth striker Rory Fallon and West Brom defender Gianni Zuiverloon on loan.
Zuiverloon in particular will be a big bonus to Roy Keane, with defenders Gareth McAuley, Tom Eastman and Mark Kennedy all out injured.
Things haven’t been so good for Norwich. Boss Lambert has been given a two-game touchline ban for improper conduct towards an official after last week’s 3-3 draw with Reading.
It’s a big blow for the Canaries who head into this game without a win in five games. However, they can take heart from the visitors’ recent record – the Tractor boys have lost their last three league games and have won just one of their last six on the road.
Ipswich have won only once on their previous five visits to Carrow Road, but the sides have only been separated by more than one goal just five times in their last 16 meetings.
Despite their poor record at Norwich, Ipswich look good to get a point against their bitter rivals.
The Canaries have drawn their last four games and another draw can be backed at a very tempting 23/10.
