Day one of the Perth leg of the World Series of Darts saw perhaps the shock result of the year to date as 16-time World Champion Phil Taylor was brushed aside by 20-year-old Australian arrowsmith Corey Cadby.

But that was the only real surprise from the first round of fixtures, as Gary Anderson, Dave Chisnall, Peter Wright, Adrian Lewis, Raymond van Barneveld, Michael van Gerwen and James Wade all comfortably made it through to the next stage.

So who faces who tomorrow?

Gary Anderson v Dave Chisnall

The Flying Scotsman has beaten Chizzy in all three of their meetings since January, and prior to the Sydney Masters, the reigning world champion had won all three previous World Series titles this year. And he’ll be looking to leave Australia with a bang by beating Chisnall comfortably.

Top tip – Anderson -2.5 @ 4/5

Corey Cadby v Peter Wright

It’s unlikely Cadby will be getting much sleep tonight, having recorded the biggest victory of his career to date this afternoon against Phil Taylor. And he didn’t just scrape through, either. The Power failed to take a leg from the youngster while he was broken on his own throw twice.

Though Wright will be heavily fancied to win this one – we’re sticking by the 20-year-old Australian.

Top Tip – Cadby to win @ 5/1

Adrian Lewis v Raymond van Barneveld

Lewis lost in the second round in Sydney, while Barney fell at the first hurdle – and the head-to-head record between these two in recent years is incredibly close – with Barney winning 12 and Jackpot winning 11 of their last 24 meetings (one match finished a draw back in 2014).

This one could go to the wire, and it may be a case of who doesn’t throw the worst, rather than who plays best.

Top tip – Over 16.5 legs @ 4/5

Michael van Gerwen v James Wade

The final match of the day sees Mighty Mike up against the Machine. MVG made it to the final in Sydney two weeks ago, before losing to the Power, and he’ll be looking to go one better this time out.

His record against Wade is pretty impressive too, and he’s beaten him 8-3 in the last two meetings between the pair.

Top Tip – Michael van Gerwen to win 10-4 @ 11/2

Fancy this as a fourfold? £5 would return £631.80!
