The PDC World Darts Championship is starting to pick up the pace following its Christmas interlude, with the second round well underway at Alexandra Palace.

As the matches get tougher, the upsets will start to come thick and fast, and although we’re expecting Phil Taylor to romp into round three, we have picked out one unexpected winner in our three best bets.

Kyle Anderson to beat Andy Hamilton @ 11/8

The Hammer just about saw off Canadian qualifier Dave Richardson 3-2 in the opening round, but that could well be as far as he goes at Alexandra Palace.

Anderson, in contrast, swaggered into round two via a 3-0 win over Steve Beaton, and 12th-seed Hamilton has been in awful form at this season’s major tournaments, failing to make a single quarter-final.

Phil Taylor to beat Mark Webster 4-0 @ 6/4

These two have met twice at the World Championship in the past, and Webster actually won their most recent clash in the 2011 quarter-finals.

However, since then Taylor has won eight in a row against Spider, and there could well be a repeat of the whitewash he delivered versus Webster in 2010, when the Power won 6-0 in the semi-finals.

Taylor was imperious in the first round, averaging 100.57 as he beat Jyhan Artut 3-0, while Webster managed a measly 81.91 as he beat Ron Meulenkamp 3-1.

Kim Huybrechts to beat Ian White @ 8/15

The Belgian was in scintillating form in round one, averaging 99.40 as he beat Michael Mansell 3-0.

That average was the fourth-best posted by any player at the tournament so far, with only Adrian Lewis, Taylor, and Raymond van Barneveld boasting a better tally.

Huybrechts has also won each of his three matches with White in 2014, and five of his last seven against Diamond in total.
