With two high octane games taking place in the NBA tonight, let me give you an alley-oop with the markets.

The Miami Heat, a certainty to top the Eastern Conference at 4/11, visit the Knicks having won 13 games in a row, one short of a franchise record.

These high scoring fast flowing teams, average 203.97 points together per game and could decimate the Over Market of 198 but who will take the win?

On paper, Miami should clean up against any team but factor in New York’s 21-8 record at Madison Square Garden and the Knicks two victories over the Heat already this season and it’s clear LeBron and co have a game on their hands.

That said, in basketball, where the regular schedule is a stamina sapping slog, the motivation of a particular team is a huge factor and the Heat will be seeking revenge. Take the -4.5 handicap at 10/11 as 37 of Miami’s 42 wins this season have been by 5 points or more.

In the second of tonight’s double header, preseason Western Conference favourites Oklahoma take on the Clippers.

Sitting second in the standings and trailing the Spurs by three games, the Thunder are still 7/5 to finish top. A bad result in this evening’s clash with the Clippers, who themselves are 4/1 to claim the banner, could change everything however.

The teams have met twice in this campaign so far producing two high scoring games making the mark of 204 a particular attractive for over/under punters at 10/11.

Kevin Durrant’s men won both of those contests fairly comfortably although LA were without point guard Chris Paul for a 109-97 blow out in January.

The all-star is back for this one but even with home-court advantage a 2.5 handicap is too heavy to carry. Add this to the 6.5 extra points Oklahoma score on average per game than Los Angeles and the 10/11 price for the Thunder must be taken.
